Cited Among Some of the Most Interesting and Exciting Places on Earth, Baltimore Makes a Splash at Number 15 on the New York Times “Places to Go in 2018”
In January, The New York Times released a beautifully curated interactive feature presenting 52 cities across the globe its readers should visit in 2018. Designed to immediately generate wanderlust with this “starter kit for escaping”, Baltimore shines in the Number 15 spot. Links in the write-up by author Nora Walsh lead to Baltimore’s packed cultural events calendar, produced by Visit Baltimore and highlight the 200th birthday of abolitionist leader Frederick Douglass as well as the one-of-a-kind Light City festival this April.

Launched in 2016, Light City is the largest festival of light, music and innovation in North America and will be returning to Charm City from April 14 – 21st. The immersive displays erected throughout the city are just one example of the exciting artistic renaissance occurring throughout our town.
Also cited in the NYT write-up is a nod to the upcoming spring opening of Hotel Revival in Mt. Vernon on the site of Baltimore’s first public art museum. Baltimore Magazine notes that, “the swanky new spot will have 107 guest rooms, a street-level restaurant, three karaoke rooms, and a rooftop bar headed by by Chelsea Gregoire.”
